Economic advantages:
The technology allows to reduce the number of power cables in an automobile by 70% due to increased intelligence of vehicle units, to change cable bundles for separate cables and to decrease the number of connectors;
Elimination of specific communication lines and communication transmitters;
Reduction of vehicle control units with the transmission of their functions to microcontrollers in AVAS system and decrease of total vehicle components' cost. Many systems can be modified and simplified (Application 6);
Utilization of single-type electronic components and common IT support for the production of automobiles (large-scale effect);
AVAS allows to save labour costs at assembly line.
An estimation of overall cost reduction is approximately 8% off the cos of a middle class automobile (test automobile — Ford Focus). For high-end vehicles this percentage can be considerably higher. More precise estimation can be made only by specialists of an automotive company relating to a specific vehicle brand. We suppose that an accurate calculation will provide more economy because our evaluation is moderate.
