Technical parameters and distinctions

AVAS technical parameters are represented in Application 1. In Application 3 there is a comparative analysis of the AVAS technology and CAN communication protocol.

One of the main differences of the protocols is that AVAS, unlike CAN, was developed specifically for the vehicle control tasks. Major issues solved by AVAS:

  • Creation of effective vehicle control loops. Up to 64 independent loops in the control system;
  • High information density of the protocol. AVAS provides a 3 times greater information density of communication channel than CAN at similar data transfer speed;
  • Availability of information. Every vehicle system “sees” the state of all other systems and their current parameters. Data from any vehicle sensor is available for all other systems and can be used for the control of several systems.

AVAS is an adapted to the automotive industry solution of control and communication tasks. AVAS allows to optimize technical parameters of vehicle systems and enable their ubiquitous control. For the increase of technical parameters and quality of communication AVAS provides a universal set of tools for any vehicle system or unit.
